75 th Independence day Celebration

The 75 th independence day of our country "Azadi Ka Amrith Mahotsav", a symbol of pride and
identity of our nation, was celebrated with a grandeur at St. Aloysius P.U. College Harihar.
Mr. Arun Kumar, A lawyer and a social activist, was the chief guest for the program, said that
when we look at the seventy five years of independence history, we have seen many elevations
of achievement. It is a matter of pride that everyone lives together in a country with diversity of
caste, creed and religion. He called upon the students to strengthen this bond of brotherhood
everywhere.
Similarly, the Guest of Honor. A social activist and lawyer Mr. Anil Pasha venerated the sacrifice
of great men who gave everything for the freedom of our country and said that we should also
be committed towards building a great Nation of peace and harmony. The program was
presided over by the Superior of our college, Rev. Fr. Eric Mathais SJ. The Principal of the
college Mr. Baptist Sunny Gudinho, explained the significance of the tricolor flag... Saying that
the freedom of our country will be meaningful only when the faces of the poor, exploited,
migrant workers, and people from the fringes of the society have a smile of self-reliance and
confidence of a smooth life, he praised the activities of the Spandana team of our college in this
regard.
Vice Principals Mrs. Pushpalatha Urs, and Mr. Mohsin Ulla, Program coordinators, Mr.
Manjunath S and Mr. Nagaraj, student representatives Ms. Harshita Shenvi and Ms.Muskan
were also present on the platform.
Welcoming the dignitaries with the traditional style and NCC guard of honor ushered the guests
to the stage. After unfurling the flag, a floral tribute to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and
Ambedkar gave a different inkling to the program, the program officially started with the
interreligious prayer.
Students of Red, Green, Gold and Blue Houses gave a beautiful cultural elixir concerning to
past, present and future depicting India's independence history in the programme.
Student leader Harshita Shenvi welcomed the gathering, Ms. Soumya N introduced the guests,
Ms. Alisha Banu compered the program and Ms. Suzanne Anthony delivered the Vote of thanks.
