Empowering Elegance: St.Aloysius PU College's Grand Women's Day Celebration- March 11, 2024.

St. Aloysius PU College, Harihar, celebrated Women's Day on March 11 with great vigor and enthusiasm.

The College Director, Rev. Fr. Eric Mathias SJ delivered a wonderful speech on women empowerment. Along with Rev. Fr. Vinod AJ SJ, the director of the gents hostel and faculty, and Rev. Fr. Avinash Lobo SJ, the finance officer of our college, they orchestrated a grand lunch in honor of all the women staff at the college.


The program, hosted by Priyanka from 2nd Science and Bhagyasree from 2nd Commerce, saw approximately 150 women from different parts of Davangere district in attendance, including Asha workers from various areas of Harihar and Dhavangere.

The program commenced with a highly devotional inter-religious prayer, invoking blessings from above, led by our 2nd PUC students and prepared by Rev. Fr. Avinash Lobo SJ, the finance officer of our college.


A fantastic welcome dance by 2nd PUC students, choreographed by Miss. Sushmita Rachel Pinto, faculty from the Department of Mathematics, set the tone for the celebration.

Mr. Abdul Rahman G, faculty in the Department of Arts and Commerce, warmly welcomed everyone with sweet words.


The chief guest for the event was Sri BP Harish, the MLA from Harihar, accompanied by his daughter Anusha HB. Other dignitaries present included Harihar CDPO Poornima, Dr. Savita from Harihar Government Hospital, the President of the Press Club, Smt. Sambhavi, Sushilamma WPC, Head Constable of Harihar, Srimati Gita R, Staff Nurse of Government Hospital Harihar, Asha workers Smt. Savita, Smt. Asha, Smt. Vedavati, Smt. Manjula, Smt. G. Vinodamma, Anusha HP (Sri. BP Harish MLA's daughter), and others.


Our College Director, Rev. Fr. Eric Mathias SJ, Rev. Fr. Vinod AJ SJ, Director of St. Aloysius Gents Hostel, and faculty, Rev. Fr. Avinash Lobo SJ, Finance Officer and faculty of our college, Mrs. Pushpalatha Urs Principal, Mr. Pascal Fernandes, Vice Principal of the Science department, and all the teaching and non-teaching staff were present to add colors to the program.

Chief guest Sri BP Harish MLA and other distinguished guests, including Mr. Pushpalatha Urs, were felicitated during the program. The compere of the felicitation ceremony was Mr. Abdul Rahman G, the faculty. The presidential speech was delivered by Sri BP Harish MLA of Harihar.

The cultural program was presented by the 2nd PUC students of St. Aloysius PU College, Harihar.

Mrs. Pushpalatha Urs, the principal, addressed the gathering with a wonderful speech focused on the value and power of women, providing great awareness to everyone present.

The president of the Press Club, Smt. Sambhavi, gave a wonderful felicitation on women, shedding light on the dignity and value of women in this world.

A wonderful dance performance by 2nd PUC girls on the theme of women empowerment, prepared by faculty Miss. Jyothi Gupta G, added to the celebration.

A remarkable video presentation on women's power was conducted by Mr. Baptist Sunny Gudhino, a faculty and competitive exam director.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Abdul Rahman G, a faculty, who specifically mentioned everyone contributing to the success of the event.

Tea and snacks were provided in the evening, and everyone departed happily.
