St. Ignatius of Loyola made a revolutionary change in the world through education and service by
establishing Jesuit institutions. It is commendable that thousands of Jesuit priests who have stride in
his path and are still upholding his ideals. In this regard, on July 31 the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola
was celebrated to commemorate the 500 th year of conversion and 400 th year of canonization of St.
Ignatius of Loyola.
Rev. Fr. Richard Mascarenhas S J, professor at Minor Seminary of Shimoga diocese , Bhadravathi, was
the chief guest for the program, spoke on how St. Ignatius of Loyola converted his life from obscurity
to luminosity, from sumptuousness to simplicity and became an exemplary personality for mankind.
Rev. Fr. Eric Mathias S J. the Superior of the college, in his presidential address shed light on the
mission of the Jesuit institutions. Finance Officer Rev. Fr. Vinod A J. SJ., College Principal Mr. Baptist
Sunny Gudinho, Vice Principals Mrs. Pushpalatha Urs And Mr. Mosin Ulla, Program Coordinator Mr.
Alwin Lobo, College Student Council President Ms. Harshita Shenvi, Vice President Ms. Muskan were
present.
The students were also felicitated for winning the Ingnatian week competitions. Besides, mime,
Dramatic song and theme Song sung by the students gave a new glow to the program in proliferating
the life message of Saint Ignatius of Loyola
Ms. Reshma Anjum welcomed the gathering, Ms. Shivani and Ms. Arshiya Banu hosted the program
and Ms. Alisha proposed the vote of thanks. Inter -religious prayer, welcome dance, Ignatius Loyola
song capped off the event.
