Kannada Rajosthava

St Aloysius College Harihar celebrated the 63rd Kannada Rajosthava in the college premises.The programme began with a prayer dance by spreading light along with the song hachevu kannada da deepa.The gathering was welcomed .Guests for the day were Sri Yugdharmada Ramanna ,Kannada rajosthava awardee, Fr Eric Mathias SJ ,Principal Degree college, Fr Pradeep Sequeira SJ ,Finance Officer ,Fr Cyril raj SJ ,Director Gents Hostel ,Mr Sunny Gudinho ,Principal PU College ,Mrs Pushpalatha Urs ,Vice Principal and the coordinator of the day Mr Shivkumar ,Department of Kannada.

The programme began with lighting the lamp and offering flowers to the portrait of the Mother Karnataka by all the dignitaries ,teachers and student representatives

This was followed by a speech by Ms Deepa ,2nd puc, where she spoke on the history of Karnataka remembering the martyrs who died for the state.

Followed by a speech by Ms Shimmi Raj,Department of English on how a kannadiga must be ,where she quoter hegadru iru,enthadru iru ,elladru iru ,kannada vagiru. Mr Vittu ,II BCom spoke on the partition of Karnataka and how it has bloomed as a state after the bifurcation.

Mr Shivkumar gave an introduction regarding the chief guest ,followed by the inspirational message from the chief guest.He is from Davangere ,and awardee of Kannada Rajosthava 2010 .He has written 5 books and this is the 13,234th programme that he is addressing .

He stressed on how education in the past was and how it is in the present. He said if the mind is fine ,you may burn the books .He gave a description about the Jnanpeeta Awardees and sang a song in kannada.

Fr Eric and other dignitaries felicitated the guests.

Cultural programme followed by dances representing the culture of Karnataka

The programme ended with a vote of thanks and State and National Anthem.
